EARTH PHASE DESCRIPTION
The emphasis in this phase is to introduce the fundamentals of shampooing, rinsing, and conditioning, haircoloring, haircutting, chemical texture services, manicuring and pedicuring, application of artificial nails, facials and skin care, facial makeup, hair removal, laws, rules, and regulations, management, ethics, interpersonal skills and salesmanship, disinfection, sanitation, and safe work practices.
WATER PHASE DESCRIPTION
This phase is a comprehensive ten-week curriculum. Clinic and classroom activities will concentrate on haircutting, hairstyling and color cosmetic trends/techniques with moderate emphasis on permanent waving and hair coloring.
FIRE PHASE DESCRIPTION
The main force in the Fire phase is the refinement of the future professional's practical skills. Clinic and classroom activities will concentrate on the improvement of skill and accuracy and the reinforcement of previously acquired knowledge.
AIR PHASE DESCRIPTION
The Air phase focuses on the expansion of the previously acquired theoretical knowledge and practice techniques. There is in-depth training in understanding hair textures and techniques.
INFINITY PHASE DESCRIPTION
Future professionals are directed to finely tune their coordination, speed, accuracy and concentration to meet entry-level salon requirements. Esthiology Course Outline In this program, you will study international trends in specialized techniques to purify, balance and renew the skin, as well as techniques in makeup application. Through hands-on training, you will learn to perform facials, hair removal, body treatments, makeup application techniques and other skin care treatments. You will also learn extensive business-building skills, providing the foundation you need for a career as a licensed skin esthetician.

At the Aveda Denver Institute you have the opportunity to learn and increase your knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, deep tissue massage therapy and other techniques as you gain practical experience working with clients. You will work along side instructors and fellow students in a clinical setting under supervision, obtaining extensive hands-on experience. You will also learn how to prepare for the workplace by actually developing your own plan of action for employment at a massage therapy spa. At the Colorado Aveda School of Massage you will refine your massage therapy skills as you expand your understanding of the human body. This allows for whole brain learning, taking every learning type into consideration whether it is a Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic or Intellectual learner. This allows for more retention and understanding of the information. This teaching style was developed for Harvard Schools and is now implemented in the Aveda network!
Within the Massage Therapy Curriculum, we will be focusing on these areas within your 600 hour massage therapy education: Ayurvedic Philosophy, Aromaology, Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Swedish Massage therapy, Deep Tissue massage therapy, Myofacial Release Massage Therapy, Trigger Point Massage Therapy, Hydrotherapy, Reflexology, Polarity, Chakra Balancing, Stretching, Yoga, Body Treatments, Acupressure, Lymphatic Drainage, Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. All of these theories and philosophies will be harnessed in the classroom as well as on our Clinic floor, which will be supervised by highly trained massage therapists.
At the Aveda Institute Denver, we like to bring real life applications to our Future Professionals Education Experience. We allow our FP’s to go through Job Fairs that we host at our Institute. We bring in guest speakers to work with the FP’s ranging from Owners of Spas and resorts, Highly Successful Massage Therapists who are still practicing/teaching, to community projects like Earth Month and the Denver Rescue Mission. We do Spa Tours around the local area and allow for relationships to develop with the FP’s and potential employers, giving us one of the highest placement rates in the country!

By focusing on the Ancient system of Ayurveda, the Aveda Institute Denver is going to focus on the holistic or “wholistic” approach to Massage Therapy, Guest Interaction and Learning Styles. Our Massage Therapy Curriculum is set up with the learner in mind. We use an education system called 4mat. This allows for whole brain learning, taking every learning type into consideration whether it is a Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic or Intellectual learner. This allows for more retention and understanding of the information. This teaching style was developed for Harvard Schools and is now implemented in the Aveda network!
Within the Massage Therapy Curriculum, we will be focusing on these areas within your 600 hour massage therapy education: Ayurvedic Philosophy, Aromaology, Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Swedish Massage therapy, Deep Tissue massage therapy, Myofacial Release Massage Therapy, Trigger Point Massage Therapy, Hydrotherapy, Reflexology, Polarity, Chakra Balancing, Stretching, Yoga, Body Treatments, Acupressure, Lymphatic Drainage, Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. All of these theories and philosophies will be harnessed in the classroom as well as on our Clinic floor, which will be supervised by highly trained massage therapists.
At the Aveda Institute Denver, we like to bring real life applications to our Future Professionals Education Experience. We allow our FP’s to go through Job Fairs that we host at our Institute. We bring in guest speakers to work with the FP’s ranging from Owners of Spas and resorts, Highly Successful Massage Therapists who are still practicing/teaching, to community projects like Earth Month and the Denver Rescue Mission. We do Spa Tours around the local area and allow for relationships to develop with the FP’s and potential employers, giving us one of the highest placement rates in the country!
